National Alliance for Prisoners' Rights

National Alliance for Prisoners’ Rights (NAFPR) is a newly formed Grassroots Advocacy Organization, consisting of concerned advocates and activist, of all ages, races, religions and gender and whose work is informed by decades of collective experience of prison conditions and efforts to apply universal covenants and treaties to the treatment of incarcerated peoples.  The problems of the correctional system in the United States have become very serious and the population of incarcerated men, women and youth has far exceeded any other country in the world.  The economic burden on the society due to such levels of incarceration is huge and the potential of these members of society who are incarcerated is wasted. Advocating Organizations, Groups and Individuals, nationwide have come together as an alliance, to bring about positive changes in the Courts and the Penal System, across America.

The NAFPR is aligned to address the issues of the economic burden on the society due to such levels of incarceration, the enormous role that racism, classicism, poverty, lack of education, and diagnosed medical and mental illness play in mass incarceration, the serious abuses and deprivations, taking place in American prisons, some even leading to fatality and suicide, and the growing trend toward privatization of correctional facilities, with the associated focus on profits. When this occurs, treatment of prisoners tends to decline and abuse of prisoners to increase.

Behind the Scenes of My Home Page

Prisoners in Pennsylvania  have been and continue to be, subjected to severe physical and mental abuses, in addition to deprivation, mail tampering, destruction, written up bogus reports, resulting in long-term placements in Solitary Confinements (RHU), placements in SMU and numerous other human right's violations.
There have been numerous attempted suicides, successful suicides and many suits are being filed as a result of unaddressed and unresolved request for independent investigations into the severe issues of concern.
Prisoners are now being shifted, transferred to other prisons and placed in Mental Units, in order to discredited their claims so that the suits will be dismissed. These men have valid law suits and advocacy organizations involved with these prisoners have all been documenting and keeping a data on all PA prisons with a current and past history of abuses, deprivations, deaths, etc. In addition, the prison officials have banned some advocates from meeting with these prisoners and have prevented the mail from getting through to the prisoners, filing suits. This is an Urgent Matter and help is needed in those prisons.
